Meet Cheri – master of yoga mats, snack-time negotiations, and the occasional glitter explosion. A proud mom of two nearly-grown kiddos (yes, she survived the toddler years!), Cheri brings both her big heart and big energy to everything she does. She's a certified yoga instructor, a seasoned primary school teacher, and currently leads the littlest yogis in mindfulness and movement through Home Yoga at Compass Charter School. When she's not teaching, you can find her chasing sunshine, sipping coffee that's probably gone cold, or trying to remember where she put her keys.
Meet Scott – Co-Owner, Kid Whisperer & Sacred Play Specialist
Scott is the proud dad of two wildly awesome kids—Darby (24) and Buster (16)—and somehow still has enough energy to lead yoga for yours. With over 500 hours of kids yoga training and a knack for turning chaos into calm, Scott brings equal parts joy, movement, and mindful mischief to everything he does.
He runs the enrichment programming at Compass Charter School in Santa Ana, where he’s basically the king of keeping kids engaged (and occasionally upside down). Scott’s teaching style is rooted in what he calls “Li-La” yoga—the yoga of sacred play—which means your child will stretch, move, laugh, and maybe even discover their inner ninja monk.
He believes humor is the highest form of intelligence and that yoga should feel less like a chore and more like recess for the soul. So bring your kiddo, pack a snack, and don’t be surprised if you find them trying to teach you a sun salutation at dinner.
Meet Katlyn – Co-Owner, Yoga Chameleon & Bonus Mom Extraordinaire
Katlyn is the co-owner of Home Yoga OC and a true yoga shapeshifter—equally at home leading a gentle wall class, a fiery vinyasa flow, or anything in between. With certifications in prenatal yoga and trauma-informed teaching, Katlyn brings both compassion and expertise to every class.
When she’s not teaching at the studio, Katlyn is sharing her first academic love—Ancient Art History—with college students. So yes, she can tell you how to hold Tree Pose and explain the symbolism of a 4th-century mosaic while doing it.
Katlyn is also the proud stepmom to Darby (24) and Buster (16), and has fully earned her badge in Bonus Parenting. She brings her calm energy, boundless patience, and a sense of humor that makes kids (and parents) feel instantly at ease.
Meet Buster – Our Summer Studio Star & Future Leader
At 16, Buster is already making big moves—both at home and at the studio! Spending his summer with us to gain valuable job experience and strengthen his college applications, Buster brings dedication, focus, and plenty of energy to every task.
He’s a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo and has spent the last three years training future black belt leaders, proving he’s not just a martial artist but also a natural mentor and coach. Whether helping out with classes or guiding younger students, Buster leads with confidence and kindness.
We’re lucky to have him on our team this summer—and who knows? You might catch him showing off a few martial arts moves between yoga sessions!
